Balsam Peru - About
This oil is very thick and will not pass through the dropper cap.
Directions and Recommendations.
Loosen the cap slightly to allow pressure to release. Add a small amount of boiling water to a small measuring cup just enough to allow the bottle to stand upright without tipping over. Let stand for 5 minutes then remove the dropper plug so as to be able to pour out a small amount out.
If you are creating a diffuser blend and would like to have a sweet note, then Balsam peru is ideal and affordable - however you must dilute your Balsam within other thin essential oils first.
For example, take an empty glass essential oil bottle perhaps one that still has 2 or 3 mls of Lavender Essential oil in it, add one small dollop of warmed Balsam and along with 2 or 3 mls of Orange Essential Oil. Replace the dropper plug and cap and shake well. The Lavender and Orange oil will help to dilute/dissolve the Balsam.
If you are wanting to use Balsam Peru in natural perfume making then we suggest that you dilute/cut the Balsam with a high count alcohol such as Spirytus Vodka which is about 76%. Blend the warmed up Balsam into a larger glass bottle at a ratio of of 1:4 (4 parts being the alcohol). The alcohol will help to separate and thin this resinous oil, however you will have to shake it really well prior to adding to your recipe because much of it will settle to the bottom of the bottle.
If you are using the Balsam peru in salves, then add a small dollop of warmed up resin to your warm base ingredients such as coconut oil, shea butter and jojoba and bees wax. Stir Balsam Resin throughly into your mixture.
