Palmarosa Oil resides with in the same family as Lemongrass but smells significantly different due to it the high content of Geraniol which casts a rosy aroma. I would consider it to be a middle to base note due to its lingering tenacious aroma.
I would also classify Palamrosa as an 'Aroma Modifier' meaning if you like to blend essential oils together use Palmarosa in much lessor amounts than the other oils because it will aromatically over-power the others.
